My Cottage Sewing Box

My house is completely upside down and I am very happy to have put aside some of my quilting stuff.  Because I had access to it,  I have  managed to finish my Cottage Sewing Box.

Do you remember the class I attended with Reiko Kato a month ago ? This class was to make this lovely box. I am really happy to have finished it! As usual with Reiko's creations, it needs some attention but worth the time spent making it, in mho.

It is now stored away with the other Reiko Kato quilted objects I made... until I can once again display them in the house.

The renovation is going well... Thank you all for your good wishes ;-)

Until later,

Edit  19/05/2012 :

I have decided to take off the decorative country stitches on each side of the roof  for a neat finish. I prefer it this way ;-)

 Here are the photos :

  13. Hi David,
What a neat collection of small houses/stitching necessities you have there! Love the small house that you've finished now! Is it only a class or can you find this project back in one of her books? I would like to make one myself ;-).
    Have a nice weekend!

    1. It was a class project but a very similar house (though a lot smaller) is in her book "My Dream Quilts". This book also contains the round cottage with the roof made of tiles (with a different appliqué design). The books is bilingual (English and French)

    1. Merci beaucoup Laurence. Je viens de modifier un petit détail qui me gênait! Tu vois, sur les côté du toit, j'avais fait un point lancé primitif irrégulier pour faire un peu country mais finalement je viens de l'enlever et maintenant c'est juste comme j'aime ;-)
