I love handquilting. It is a quiet and peaceful process, almost therapeutic. Handquilting really turns a top into a quilt. It makes the quilt alive, vibrant, filled with all the energy and love put into quilting it.
I have known that for a long time, so could you tell me why it takes me so long to start quilting a top ?
One block done. I hand quilt one hour a day to achieve my goal of finishing the quilt before mid-February. Wish me luck!
Until later,

Beautiful quilting! I know how that feels, handquilting is so wonderful to do, but it is such a big job, that makes it a bit difficult to start. But once started.... I hope you reach your goal!

ReplyDeleteUn abrazo
Gorgeous, as always!
ReplyDeleteLovely color selection, good luck and waiting for new posts about the quilt
First, I wish you luck, David! Second, please tell me how on Earth you are doing such an accurate stitches?! I am struggling with quilting, I was shown how to but I cannot do it - my needle ( right one) is simply making it long spaces or does not pick up the background fabric... And also, do you mark your lines or just quilt with your eyes? Thank you :-)

ReplyDeleteI know what holds me up from handquilting - the basting! Your quilting looks marvelous - so much gorgeous texture. An hour a day sounds doable - good luck!
ReplyDeleteC'est vrai que c'est très apaisant, mais selon la taille du patch, c'est aussi très long. J'ai hâte d'apercevoir celui là terminé;
Bisous
